Indie/Alternative spotlight of the week

                        Can't Stand Me Now
                   by The Libertines
As promised, this is the second post for Indie/Psychedelic spotlight of the week. This post will be covering  on the controversial Indie rock band from United Kingdom The Libertines. Founded in 1997 by frontmen Carl Barat (vocalist/guitar) and Pete Dorhety (vocalist/guitar). The band centered on the songwriting partnership of Carl and Pete along with bassist John Hassall  and Gary Powell (drums). They gained some notoriety in early 2000s with releasing their self-titled album was voted second best album of the year 2004 by NME magazine. Despite their critical success, the bands music was often eclipsed by Pete's addiction of cocaine which led to the breakup of the band in 2005. Pete has since stated that the breakup of the band was due to relationship difficulties between Carl and himself that were not related to his drug addictions. However, the four members made a reunion comeback in 2010 Reading music festivals. They recently has done a sold-out concert at British Summertime Hyde Park last month and they are planing to release a third studio album in 2015.
